Electrical & gas safety inspections

Since March 2021, the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021 require all residential rental properties to complete safety checks, including:

• gas safety checks (every 2 years)
• electrical safety checks (every 2 years)
• smoke alarm safety checks (annually)

Further to this, as per Australian Standard 3786:2014, all smoke alarms must be replaced every 10 years. For more information visit Victorian Building Authority and Fire Rescue Victoria.

• replacement of the alarm if faulty or expired (additional cost)
• copy of the safety check report for the property
• reminders when your next safety check is due
